Lightology is the largest and most progressive collection of contemporary lighting in North America.

Founded by Gregory Kay, an award-winning low-voltage lighting designer and product designer, who also established the North American market for low voltage, open conductor systems such as monorail and cable lighting systems. Through his vision and perseverance, NEC and UL codes were changed to recognize these systems, paving the way for mainstream acceptance.

In 1983, Greg founded Tech Lighting, and became a well-known name in the industry. In 2001, he sold Tech Lighting, but continued in his passion by opening Lightology. Lightology includes Edge Lighting, which offers ambient, task and accent fixtures; tools for the designer to develop a fully layered lighting scheme. Edge Lighting's monorail system offers numerous patent pending developments to further benefit the designer and end user.

Based in Chicago, Lightology now has an outstanding selection of quality contemporary lighting fixtures, both low voltage and line voltage, from over 400 manufacturers. Design masters such as Mariano Fortuny, Philippe Starck and Isamu Noguchi are well represented. Visitors can shop our spectacular 20,000 sq. ft.
