Marco Piva is an Italian architect and designer from Milan, Italy born in 1952. He graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan with a degree in architecture in 1977. Between 1977 and 1990 he worked for various studios and in 1990 he opened up his own studio, Studio Marco Piva. Studio Marco Piva works on projects ranging from simple interior design to massive architectural projects and industrial design. Piva's works can be seen all over the world from the Oceana Hotel in Dubai to the Osaka Gas Corporation Building in Osaka, Japan.
Piva excels not just as an architect but also as a teacher. Piva spends time when he is not designing as a guest teacher at prestigious colleges and universities all over the world. He also played an important part of the development of a Master's degree program in design at the Polytechnic of Milan, the Polytechnic School of Design, and the Istituto Europeo di Deign in Milan.
