F.A. Porsche

German designer Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, was most well-known for designing the first Porsche 911 in 1963 and the Porsche 904 the following year. Although both his father and grandfather were engineers, F.A.’s contributions to the design process involved the construction, aerodynamics, and styling of the chassis and exterior.

F.A. left the family business in 1972 to start his own industrial design firm, Porsche Design. His first product design was a chronograph wristwatch manufactured by Swiss watchmaker Orfina. Other products included luggage, sunglasses, pens, cuff links, and the like.

In 1983 he partnered with Lucitalia to design the sleek, über-modern Kandido table lamp, originally with a halogen bulb.

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Kandido, Lucitalia has developed a brand new LED version of this iconic table lamp. The forward-thinking, clean design is as relevant now as when it was first introduced.
