The George Nelson Bubble Lamp Saucer Wall Sconce is constructed with a 2 inch thick solid walnut wall mount and a Brushed Nickel steel arm. Shade is a taut White plastic coating over a steel wire frame. The arm has a swivel hinge and an adjustable 12 foot plug in cord with a counterweight that allows for height adjustments. This clever design allows one to adjust the sconce from left-to-right, and up-and-down, without having to change its position on the wall. Requires one 120 volt medium base incandescent lamp up to 150 watts, not included. UL listed. Made in USA. Dimensions: 16.75 inch height x 23 inch depth. Shade is 17.5 inch diameter x 7 inch height.

Originally created for the Howard Miller Clock Company in 1947 and added to the Herman Miller line in 1954, George Nelson's Bubble Lamp line became an instant mid-century modern classic. As design trends changed, Bubble Lamps were discontinued in 1979 but later revived for homeowners in the late 90s when demand for midcentury designs resurged. Bring a piece of design history home with Bubble Lamps, which are also permanently on display at the MoMA in New York. Made in the USA.
