0024 Suspension

Gio Ponti, 1933

Another example of design excellence by visionary designer, architect and innovator Gio Ponti, it's amazing that the streamlined and ultra-modern 0024 suspension lamp is almost a century old.

Born in Milan in 1891, Gio Ponti is one of the most influential players in 20th century Italian architecture and design. Known for many important landmarks like the Pirelli tower in Milan and the Denver Art Museum, he helped co-found FontanaArte and designed many iconic pieces for this brand as well as other prominent companies. He also launched and edited an essential applied arts magazine, Domus.

Gio Ponti designed the spectacular 0024 suspension light as one of FontanaArte's first lamps in 1933. As strikingly modern then as it is now, this ageless icon is still a popular seller for the venerable brand today.

The 0024 is a magnificent suspension light made from a series of transparent tempered glass discs surrounding a tubular sandblasted glass diffuser, with a chrome-plated brass frame and canopy. The fixture is dimmable ensuring high lighting performance and low energy consumption.

This streamlined stunner is available in floor and suspension versions, and also in an XXL size three times the size of the classic lamp, reaching 150 cm. Its oversized personality brings timeless elegance to even the most spacious interiors.
