Glamtiques: G.O. Table Lamp

Giuseppe Ostuni, 1960

Created by the founder of Italian lighting design pioneer Oluce, the eponymous G.O. Table Lamp is a strikingly modern complement to today's workspaces.

Giuseppe Ostuni founded venerable lighting company Oluce in 1945. A major player in lighting design in the 1950s and beyond, Oluce is the oldest Italian design company still in business today.

Ostuni is responsible for a few of Oluce's iconic designs, including the G.O. Lamp he named with his initials. Decorative but with a clean, linear design, this table lamp made a splash when introduced over 60 years ago - and still makes a strong statement today.

The G.O. Lamp still feels very current. It features a vertical shaft and horizontal arm with a system of joints to position and angle the light as needed. Strikingly simple and pragmatic, this quintessential task lamp is perfectly suited for home or office.

Oluce still makes this iconic revival edition in Italy using many of the original manufacturing techniques, and also offers a floor lamp version. It features enhanced details that contrast beautifully in satin gold. The arm is black nickel, while the base and lampshade are available in three colors: black, scarlet and anodic bronze.
