Designer Oivind Slaatto found inspiration for the Swirl Pendant's unique shade from spirals found in nature and mathematics. Drawing on the shapes of a snail's shell of fractal patterns, the Swirl's PVC shade disperses light while concealing the light bulb to reduce glare. A Copper metallic coating on the upper side of the shade highlights the shade's sculptural design.

Danish designer, Oivind Slaatto (1978), originally studied music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, but later earned a Master's degree from the Danish Design School. It wasn't long until Slaatto opened his studio, SLAATTO DESIGN in Copenhagen, Denmark. His appreciation for music influences his design process and philosophy.
Each product he creates, from cars to light fixtures, should feel like a piece of music being played - simple yet complex. While Slaatto develops a diverse array of products, light is close to his heart. Having an affinity with nature, Slaatto seeks to heighten our experience with light and ultimately reshape the interiors we live in.

Awards include, an IF Product Design Award, CES Best of Innovations Award, Design of the Year from Bo Bedre (2013), and many more.

Le Klint was founded in Copenhagen in 1943 and remains dedicated to its traditions of craftsmanship and ingenuity to this day. Iconic white lampshades, suspensions, and pendants of pleated and folded linen embody the signature Le Klint style. Deceptively simple in appearance, the intricate lighting structures achieve a rare breed of inspired elegance that elevates both form and function to a new plane.
