The light output is not 3000K; it’s not even close. This is much closer to 4000K. The light is very white and very intense. I would have preferred something closer to 1000 lumens, but it’s the color output that is most disappointing. The shade is nearly opaque, so I’m not getting as much glow and light out of the sides, while the diffuser is thin and does not cut the intensity of the down light at all. I hung this on a 6” extension in a room that’s 10’x16’ and have harsh cut-off shadows around the perimeter at the ceiling.
Because the color is such a cool-white and the lumen output so intense, it has a feel of a plain fluorescent lamp, which is a real let down.
