Designed by Daniel LibeskindRead Bio
Cordoba Pendant, designed by Daniel Libeskind, is an architectural expression of contrasting geometric forms arranged into a harmonious, sustainable, and luminous sculpture that exudes originality. The lamp is a series of asymmetrical fragments that create complex relationship within the form. The design is inspired by the Spanish Cordoba, its architecture and the mysticism of light it inspired. Flat sheets of patented techno-polymer material take shape using an algorithm that diffuses the light throughout a seemingly endless structure. Cordoba is handmade, and offers varying points of view even when seen as a whole. Close attention has been paid to maximizing its illumination, creating a perfect dialogue between daring artistic form and the romanticism necessary to enjoy every kind of living area.

About Daniel Libeskind
Born in Lod'z Poland, Daniel Libeskind immigrated to the Uninted States as a teenager and settled in the Bronx. Starting as a musician, Libeskind later developed a passion for architecture. He received his professional degree in the field from Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art (1970) as well as a post graduate degree in history and theory of architecture' from the School of Comparative Studies at Essex University, England (1972).
It wasn't until later that Libeskind entered (and won) an international competition to build the Jewish Museum in Berlin. After his win, he moved his then young family to Berlin and devoted the next decade or so to completing the seminal design. Upon seeing the stunning nature of his work, countless commissions followed, including Danish Jewish Museum in San Francisco, the Denver Art Museum, The Royal Ontario Museum and many more.
In 2003, Libeskind won another incredible competition in which he was chosen to create a master plan for the rebuilding of the World Trade Center. This plan developed by Libeskind included a memorial, an underground museum, the integration of the slurry wall, a special transit hub and four office towers.
Once in New York, Libeskind began expanding his design skills to product and interior design. Libeskind still lives in NY with his wife and business partner.
