Space Tour: Pastel Paradise

Los Angeles, California

Enter into actress and director Bryce Dallas Howard's earthy, pastel home, beautifully curated by interior designer and friend Claire Thomas - with lighting by Lightology.

Brimming with soft, Scandinavian hues and touches of Midcentury Modern and Art Deco, Howard and Thomas collectively dubbed their working style organic glamour - a playful mix of vintage, flea market finds, classic Hollywood details, and laid-back Californian vibes.

"We immediately knew that the core color palette for the house was going to be pink and green," Thomas says. "I always joke that I only use redhead colors - that is, colors that redheads look great in."

The cubist-inspired home office introduces darker tones to the otherwise sun-drenched pastels. The vintage mirrored screen, modern wooden desk, hammered metal table lamp and woven rattan floor lamp exude a handmade touch that feels extra vintage. The mix expertly balances old world glamour with artful, seaside flair. In the guest bedroom, pastel greens and rich browns draw upon the sand and surf - a perfect backdrop for the natural brass Happy Table Lamp.

In a sea of pastels, high-contrast textures and patterns mix things up - offering a visual break in the tone-on-tone spaces. Toile- and mural-style wall coverings, terrazzo floors, striking marble - each piece has its own tale to tell. "Bryce and I share a passion for old Hollywood storytelling," Thomas says. When it all comes together, the result is truly cinematic.
