Thomas Bernstrand

Thomas Bernstrand was trained at Konstfack, University College of Arts, Crafts & Design, and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, and now runs his design studio Bernstrand & Co in Stockholm.

What distinguishes Thomas Bernstrands designs is that they are always based on a strong idea with a humorous touch. His work is driven by curiosity, resulting in innovative and unexpected creations. His product design aims to challenge user perspectives and keeps functionality at the forefront of their creations.

Thomas has received numerous design awards including: Spanish cDIM Design Award 2004, Ann Wall Design Prize 2005, the Skna Hem Furniture of the Year Award in 2005, and the Imm Interior Innovations Award (Germany) in 2005. He has also taken part in several art and design exhibitions around the world, including MoMA in New York, Colette in Paris, and Biennale Design Saint-Etienne.

Thomas works on commissions for several Swedish and international companies.
