Mortiz Waldemeyer

Moritz Waldemeyer (b. 1974) is a London-based designer born in Halle, East Germany. Waldemeyer moved to England in 1995 to study engineering at King's College and completed his Master's degree in mechatronics in 2001. His debut in the world of design was an interactive chandelier created for Swarovski and Ron Arad.

Waldemeyer's work occupies a range of creative fields, including lighting, fashion, and entertainment. His lamp My New Flame for Ingo Maurer was added to MoMA's permanent collection in 2013, and he has designed LED-studded costumes for Rihanna, U2, and the 2012 London Olympics. Since founding Studio Waldemeyer in 2004 with Nazanin Farahbod, Waldemeyer and his team have been able to work on larger scale projects, including bespoke installations for Audi and Microsoft, as well as the artistic exhibitions Electric Kid and By Royal Appointment.
