Andrea Branzi

Andrea Branzi (1938 - 2023) completed his degree in architecture at the Florence School of Architecture in 1966. He was a founding member of the Florence-based, avant-garde design studio Archizoom Associates until its dissolution in 1974. In 1973, Branzi relocated to Milan, where he continued his design practice in addition to teaching at the Polytechnic University of Milan. He would also become a co-founder and first cultural director of Domus University, Italy's first post-graduate design school.

Branzi has worked in the fields of architecture, industrial design, and urban planning, as well as a visiting lecturer at universities around the world. He has received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award for his career achievements, and his works have been featured in the permanent collections of museums such as the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
