Carlo Cumini

Carlo Cumini was born in Gemona del Friuili, located in the Northeastern corner of Italy, in 1953, where he still resides and designs. After finishing school in 1974, he went to work for his family business, engaged in selling and designing furniture for the house. From 1979 to 1984 designs individual pieces of fUrniture which become then serial production for the Company since 1985 and for Horm since its founding in 1989. Carlo got his start in the lighting industry designing for companies like Luc'e, whose products are today considered classics of minimalist design.In 2000, his continuous search for new brands, in addition to the best known brands of European design, and his experience as a designer and interior designer, led to a commission to design all the furnishings for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas. Since then Carlo Cumini has continued to draft, design and sculpt unique pieces or small, numbered series of furniture for his company. In 2015 he returned to his passion for lighting design and created Konica for the Spanish company Fambuena and in 2016 he designed the ALBEDO line of furniture for Paolo Chiarot.
