This is an innovative light on two fronts: 1) It has a shallow shade and the bulb goes in at an angle, making a very cool profile/shape. It is a work of art! 2) It is made out of EPM. It looks like metal, but it is not! The downside is this is only rated for a measly 8 watts. That is about 800 lumens, if you have a high quality, efficient LED bulb. This is equivalent to a 60-watt incandescent bulb, which is what you might want in a lamp beside your sofa (but only if you are not reading, because it would be too dim). In an outside light, you generally want more light because the space is large. This just doesn't deliver much light. If it is a small porch, or you just need enough light to use your keys, you might be okay. If this is to light a path or the approach to a building, this is not going to be enough light.
