Clarence Mallari designed the chic Serenity Ceiling Light with its intermingling of dark, light, and bright tones. Made of metal, the outer perimeter is richly hued in a mix of satin black and painted contemporary gold finishes. The acrylic diffuser is fitted to the black ceiling light with a minimal finial in a sugar white finish. A design detail of note is how the integrated LED light wafts through the shade to illuminate the gold band.

About Clarence Mallari
Clarence Mallari is a senior lighting designer at Currey & Company, where he shapes expressive, finely crafted fixtures rooted in material storytelling and artisanal technique. Mallari leans into the tactile potential of mixed media - braided rope, wrought iron, hand-woven wicker, seeded glass - combining them into forms that feel both organic and rigorously composed. His designs often reference historical - and sometimes whimsical - sources: for example, his Quennell chandelier evokes the seeded glass canisters of classic lanterns, while his Emmental chandelier plays on concentric rings inspired by the look of Swiss cheese.
