The Constance Sofa is based on the Constance Chair, originally designed by Flemming Lassen and constructed by cabinetmaker Jakob Kjaer in 1935 for the Copenhagen Cabinetmaker's Guild exhibition. Constance features an inviting form with a deep padded seat, curving arms, and an angled back that make it the perfect spot for relaxation. The combination of curved and straight lines with cylindrical wooden legs give the sofa a distinctly Danish aesthetic characteristic of Lassen's style.

    About Flemming Lassen

    Flemming Lassen (1902 - 1984) was a Danish architect and designer who, along with his brother Mogens Lassen, is credited for pioneering Functionalism in Denmark and developing the Danish Modernist style. In 1929, Lassen and Arne Jacobsen won a Danish Architects Association competition for their "House of the Future" design, and they started their own office the following year.

    Inspired by Mies van der Rohe and Bauhaus principles, Lassen's designs are characterized by simple, well-defined lines with a focus on function and experimentation with novel materials. His use of organic curves would become a hallmark of the Danish style, and many of his iconic furniture silhouettes are still in production today.
