The Oki-Nami Stool was originally designed specifically for the Oki-Nami Japanese restaurant in Brighton, England by Nazanin Kamali in 2008. Kamali's goal was to create furniture that embodied the craftsmanship and attention to detail of Japanese decorative arts, while being comfortable and durable enough to withstand the rigors of a restaurant environment.
The chair features a circular leather seat supported by an angular, solid wood frame. Its understated styling will complement a variety of interior decor styles, from modern to rustic.

About Nazanin Kamali
Nazanin Kamali (b. 1966) studied Furniture Design at the Royal College of Art before founding Non Specific Creativity, a multidisciplinary design collective, in the early 1990s. She would later join the retail design company Aero as creative director, as well as starting Newman + Kamali (later known as iNK) with Paul Newman in 2000. Kamali began working with Case Furniture as a founding designer in 2005, where she was further able to refine her style.
Kamali's designs are characterized by their beautiful simplicity with an attention to detail and high level of craftsmanship inspired by Japanese arts. Her work has been recognized by numerous organizations, including Design Plus Awards in 1996 and 1997 and being shortlisted for the Restaurant & Bar Design Award Best Seating Product for the Oki-Nami chair in 2009.
