About the Brand
Prandina started in the interior lighting design in 1982. Oriented toward defining effective and recognizable luminaires in terms of design and technology, Prandina believes in productive teamwork with established and emerging designers. About the Designer
Graduated in 1975 as interior architect at the “Nationaal Hoger Instituut voor Bouwkunst en Stedenbouw” in Antwerp (Belgium). After specialized studies in furniture design and photography, he worked for several architects and interior designers, establishing his own studio in 1988.
Since 1984 he has taught at several architecture schools in Belgium as professor or external examiner and he was also member of the jury for the prestigious “Interieur”-design competition in Kortrijk. He designs intimate furniture and lighting objects, without anecdotal humour or exaggerated experimenting. Logic and good taste give rise to useful and familiar objects, always without unnecessary frills. Luc Ramael has been collaborating with lighting- and furniture companies in Belgium, Italy and Spain and won several national and international prizes in furniture and lighting competitions.
Update. I received a response from the manufacturer.
The lamp in the picture is NOT the same as the lamp for the US market. The cable for the US market is a white, thick plastic cable and the switch box is a big, tacky, square box, not the slick, elegant switch box showing in the picture.
Not sure why the pictures of the actual lamp sold is not online. If you want to buy the lamp ask for the picture of the lamp you will receive,
I returned my lamp. A very disappointing experience.

I bought the 18.9”” black Prandina glam table lamp from lightology. However, it was delivered directly from the manufacturer in Italy and not from lightology. I received 2 gigantic boxes. 24x24x24 and 14x14x26. Both very heavy. Unfortunately the manufacturer sent a totally different electric cord, not what I ordered. Not only the color, but also the quality and material. I ordered a red, textile cord, prandina sent me a thick, plastic, white wire cord that you usually hide behind a furniture, not something you display in the glass base this lamp. It looks like Something that would cost $5 at Home Depot. This cord makes the lamp look like a cheap imitation lamp not a $1400 original lamp. The red fabric cord I should have received is part of the decorative component. The on/off switch box on the cord is also completely different from the prandina lamp online. I wish I could attach pictures of what I received.
The second disappointment is lightology. Not only were they totally bypassed, they now want me to arrange to ups return to their store. It looks like I should pay for the ups pick up of the boxes, just found out from ups. They sent me a label not set up for a pick up. They also only sent me one label, not 2. They would like me to carry the 2 huge, heavy boxes to the ups store? Very disappointing customer service.
I do not recommend buying this lamp until it is clarified why the discrepancy in the electric cord shown in the pictures and the actual electric cord received from prandina. Disappointment is an understatement.
