About Roberto Paoli
Graduated in Architecture at the University of Florence in 1994, Roberto Paoli starts immediately with the small-scale design by specializing himself in glass bending and plastic injection molding techniques. From this experience he begins to collaborate with brands such as Fellowes and Fiamitalia. In this way Roberto Paoli obtains technical and methodological knowledge, which helped him to shape his own idea of design: he thinks that functionality and technology have to merge with the shape of objects, which is always influenced by the materials. His studio is based in Milan and deals with both product and architecture, by developing projects for houses, shops and showrooms, as well as exhibitions and stands. Roberto Paoli is also creator and curator of exhibitions and design culture events. In recent years several projects by Roberto Paoli for major Italian brands have aroused great interest in the international media. In 2010 Freskogel, a set of notebook feet in Technogel® he designed for Tucano was inserted in the ADI DESIGN INDEX 2009 as a candidate for the Compasso d’Oro Award. In 2009, 2010 and 2011 he won three times the GOOD DESIGN AWARD.
