Lafleur Portable Table Lamp
SPEC #: SLP882167

Designed by Marc SadlerRead Bio
The Lafleur Portable Table Lamp, designed by Marc Sadler, was driven by the desire to move beyond the known and find a new compositional language while shaping Slamp's techno polymers. The delicate, delectable, and rechargeable Lafleur battery-powered table lamp is formed by heating Lentiflex at a controlled temperature and then hand molding it to create the blossom. The lamp has a magnetic base and comes with a complimentary metal anchor, fit to go under a tablecloth for a whimsical mise-en-place, or screwed into the wall, turning Lafleur into a wall sconce. The rechargeable 5V Li-Po battery has a life of approximately 6.5 hours and max intensity to around 60 hours at minimum intensity. Available with a Black base and Velvet colored shade or White base with a Prisma shade. CE listed.

About Marc Sadler
French citizen born in Austria, Marc Sadler currently lives in Milan. Experimentation with plastics has often formed a key part of his activity. A citizen of the world (he has lived and worked for many years in Europe, North America and Asia), he is a consultant for companies in the fields of home furnishings, large and small household appliances, lighting, technically advanced products, and sports.
At the beginning of the seventies, he perfected the first ski-boot in thermo plastic material. Completely recyclable it was subsequently commercialized by the Italian firm Caber (later known as Lotto). This is the origin of his specialization as a sports designer, which led to close collaboration with the most important multinational sport companies in the United States, Asia, and Europe, both in the sport shoes and in other sport fields: ski, tennis racquets, golf clubs, etc.
Working in this sector, which has often pioneered research into new materials and techniques, provided the experience to enable him to bring innovation to more traditional areas where is set a concept of design as pure aesthetic shape.
Awarded with the Compasso d'Oro ADI (Industrial Design association) for the lamps Drop (Flos, 1994), Tite and Mite (Foscarini, 2001) and the bookshelf Big (Caimi Brevetti, 2008), his work has won many international design awards over the years. His motorcyclist's back protector designed for Dainese is now housed in the permanent collection of design at the MOMA in New York and the lamp Mite (Foscarini) is part of the design collection of the Beaubourg in Paris.
Despite his reputation as a technical designer, Marc Sadler has a strong feeling for painting and drawing, finding it so emotionally absorbing as to consider it his real passion.
