Space Tour: Manhattan Loft

The concept behind this project was to modernize this former NYC factory, while peppering little hints of the buildings past throughout. Neutral tones and earthy textures serve as the perfect backdrop for colorful art and statement lighting. The dining table serves as a focal point, thanks in part to the Series 73 Multi Light Pendant, which presents as a floating sculpture both on and off. In the kitchen, the Ra Pendant delivers industrial minimalism over the island, a nod to the buildings foundry roots. Adding a bit of softness to the space is the Iris Wall Light by Dix Heure Dix, a ring of white overlapping ribbon with a soft, mesmerizing glow.

A palette of natural matte wood, concrete, oil-rubbed steel, venetian plaster and stone bring a touch of nature into bustling downtown NYC, while architectural features - like the factory's original pillars - carry historic drama into present day. A matte black pot-filler, industrial sliding doors and artful wall displays show that every little detail matters - the little things are always a telltale sign of a thoughtful renovation.

The bathroom is the sanctuary of the loft, with honed white hues, cool grey stone and ample natural lighting - filtered for privacy. The oversized slate soaking tub is the star of the space, capped by the organic, almost futuristic Melt Pendant by Tom Dixon. Simplicity is key to creating a relaxing environment, which means each piece needs to be extra-special. In the spacious living room, greenery keeps things fresh while abundant windows bring in the city life - like a treehouse floating above the bustling streets below.
