Created by Ilia Sergeevich Potemine, the ISP Collection by DCWEditions treats light as a mechanical object rather than a conventional lamp. The ISP Table Lamp places a slender illuminated element within a brass body mounted on a substantial marble base. Instead of a conventional switch or dimmer, the design uses a mechanical interaction that reveals and conceals the integrated LED light, making the act of turning on the lamp part of the experience. Natural polished brass and marble give the futuristic concept a deliberately substantial material presence. The collection also extends to wall-mounted versions, carrying the same unusual relationship between mechanics and illumination onto a vertical surface. ISP is particularly suited to interiors where a lamp is expected to function as an object of curiosity as well as a light source, combining precision engineering, natural materials and an almost science-fiction approach to illumination.
