Designed by Nanna and Jorgen Ditzel in 1955, the Ocean Collection by Mater revives a midcentury furniture design while rethinking its construction through recycled materials. The collection includes outdoor tables, chairs and benches characterized by slender steel frames and repeated slats that create a light, graphic profile. Mater developed the contemporary version using recycled plastic waste, including discarded fishing nets, connecting the collection's marine-inspired name with its material story.
