Designed by Douglas MontRead Bio
Inspired by the classic Rispal designs of the 1950s and 60s, the Phasme Table Lamp is the first model of the relaunched Rispal brand. Like the iconic Praying Mantis Floor Lamp which preceded it, Phasme features an opal glass shade suspended from a gently curved, solid wood frame. Slim metal legs capped with wooden feet provide support, as well as an intriguing visual accent. On/off switch located on cord.
Note: All lamps are supplied with a Anthracite Grey fabric cord as standard, rather than the colored cords shown in some images. White, Green, Red, or Burgundy cords are available on request (upcharges may apply).

Little is known about the founder of Rispal. The son of wine merchants, he was born in Paris in 1901. In 1924, he founded his company in the 11th arrondissement of the capital, at 172 rue de Charonne. Its activity ceased in 1982. The workshop and the showroom were then destroyed in order to build a real estate office. During this demolition, all plans, manufacturing documents and other tools disappeared, and with it, all the craftmanship of Rispal. However, in the early 1950s, a particularly avant-garde collection, "Formes Nouvelles", was launched. If there is one model that represents the avant-gardism of Rispal alone, it is undoubtedly the Praying Mantis.
