Designed by Clarence MallariRead Bio
Inspired by the Ginkgo leaf, Clarence Mallari designed the Maidenhair Convertible Chandelier that captivates with its flowing pattern of fan-shaped leaves. This is a lovely design when viewed from the bottom, as it becomes clear how much depth the beige semi-flush ceiling light or convertible chandelier has. The antique pearl finish on the shade glows when the lights are switched on and the telescoping leaves create patterns on surrounding surfaces. This nature-inspired chandelier is perfect for a biophilic project.

About Clarence Mallari
Clarence Mallari is a senior lighting designer at Currey & Company, where he shapes expressive, finely crafted fixtures rooted in material storytelling and artisanal technique. Mallari leans into the tactile potential of mixed media - braided rope, wrought iron, hand-woven wicker, seeded glass - combining them into forms that feel both organic and rigorously composed. His designs often reference historical - and sometimes whimsical - sources: for example, his Quennell chandelier evokes the seeded glass canisters of classic lanterns, while his Emmental chandelier plays on concentric rings inspired by the look of Swiss cheese.

Originally founded in 1988 as a purveyor of historic garden furnishings, Atlanta-based Currey & Company is known today for its stunning and diverse array of lighting products. Contemporary and transitional chandeliers and wall sconces are the company's most popular items, characterized by the meticulous attention to detail that goes into their manufacturing and finishing.
Although hand forged iron has long been Currey & Company's specialty, the lighting collection has extended to include a variety of materials such as brass, porcelain and hand-carved wood. Philippines-based Currey International has made it possible for the company to develop and produce a variety of unique hand made products using natural materials such as seashells.
