Fan is great, remote to a piece of crap

Like others here I experience massive frustration when trying to replace the battery. Its impossible! The battery holders get dislodged making it impossible to replace the battery. I guess they expect you to pa 60 for a new remote every time yo need a new battery or when it breaks whe falling to the floor - very easy to do as magnet holders are weak.

The battery holders are not attached to the plastic remote case. Also WAC help page goes blank when trying to get help. love the fan, hate the remote.

        Worst remote control design ever

Whoever designed this obviously has never used their product. The magnet that holds the remote control to the wall is far too weak. The remote control falls on the floor every single time I go to use it (unless I remove the remote from the wall every time I want to use it).Our solution has been to use velcro to adhere this to the wall.

The fan w/ light works fine. Replacing batteries in the remote control, however, is impossible. There are magnets (presumably to attach remote to wall mount) on the removable battery cover. When you replace the cover, the magnets dislodge the batteries off the contacts. No idea how the batteries got placed in the remote in the first place. The manual stated that batteries would need replacement every 5 yrs with regular use, but seems we need to replace batteries in all of these remotes in just over a year; some rooms are rarely used.

I did not buy this from Lightology however, this remote is horrible. We have three in our house and two of them fell on the floor and immediately broke. We were able to get one to work by sticking the battery to the remote (which was super hard and doesn't work all the time). But now I can't even use the fan or light in my living room. Do not buy these, they are easily breakable. They easily fall off from the magnet, fall, and break. The batteries completely detach from the remote and you can never use it again. I wish I never bought this.
