The Merkur Dining Chair was originally designed specifically for the Oslo Stock Exchange and takes its name from Mercury, the Roman god of commerce. Merkur is a modern take on classic wooden dining chairs, with a refined silhouette crafted with traditional woodworking techniques. The result is a timeless piece of furniture that feels at home in both a 19th century stock exchange or a modern home.
Note: The Dakar Black Leather and Hallingdal 65 370 fabric are only available with a Black Oak frame. The Dakar Cognac Leather and Hallingdal 65 200 fabric are only available with a Natural Oak frame.

Skogstad & Waernes is an Oslo-based design studio founded by the Norwegian designers Petter Skogstad and Fredrik Waernes. Skogstad and Waernes met while studying product design at Oslo Metropolitan University, and after working for Anderssen & Voll, Andreas Engesvik, and Snohetta, they began their own studio in 2020.
