Shigeru Uchida

A leading Japanese designer of his time, Shigeru Uchida (1943-2016) worked in a variety of fields ranging from architecture to urban planning to furniture and lighting design. He established his studio Uchida Design Institute in 1970 and produced a number of renowned minimalist designs over the course of his career. Uchida's works are featured in the permanent collections of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Conran Foundation.
