Anna Castelli Ferrieri

Anna Castelli Ferrieri (1918-2006) was an influential voice in Italian architecture and industrial design during the second half of the 20th century. Helping to co-found Kartell in 1949, she designed many of the iconic pieces, including the Componibili Storage Modules. Her creations, characterized by vibrant colors and formed of various plastics, are the result of extensive research into the potential of materials to fit both functional and aesthetic needs, without compromising product quality. She firmly believed that "it is what is beautiful that is useful," and applied this axiom to every project.
