Oscar Tusquets
Oscar Tusquets, born in Barcelona in 1941, is an acclaimed architect and designer whose career bridges architecture, industrial design, and artistic collaboration. Trained at ETSAB and the Llotja School and shaped by his work with Federico Correa and Alfonso Mila, Tusquets formed a lifelong partnership with Lluis Clotet and co-founded Studio PER, producing notable early works before creating landmark projects such as the Mae West Room at the Dal Theatre-Museum, the renovation of the Palau de la Msica Catalana, and major cultural and infrastructure buildings across Spain and Europe. Alongside architecture, he became a key figure in industrial design as a founder of BD Barcelona Design and creator of iconic furniture later embraced by major international brands and museums, earning numerous prestigious awards and recognition, while consistently pursuing a design philosophy that balances function and emotion, culture and pleasure.
