Komplot Design

Komplot Design is the Copenhagen-based partnership of Danish architect Poul Christiansen and Russian-born industrial and graphic designer Boris Berlin, founded in 1987. The studio works across product, furniture, and graphic design, with projects ranging from tractors and office furniture systems to corporate identity programs, for Danish and international clients including Le Klint and Lightyears. Christiansen and Berlin see design as a bridge between art and engineering, tradition and innovation, logic and emotion, and they pair that view with a keen interest in new production methods. The approach has let them carry Danish design traditions forward while also influencing international developments. Their best-known work is GUBI's 3D Chair (2003), the first chair produced with three-dimensional veneer technology. It won both the Danish Design Prize and a Red Dot Award in 2004, is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
