Pellegrini+Mengato Design is an Italian studio founded by David Pellegrini and Francesca Mengato, combining their backgrounds in architecture with a shared interest in material experimentation, product design, and lighting. They engage in projects that span architecture, interiors, graphics, and lighting, often exploring the expressive potential of modest geometries and succinct forms. Among their lighting designs for Fabbian is Glu, inspired by the motion of a satellite orbiting a planet, which presents a dynamic balance between structure and void. Another signature piece is the Quarter wall/ceiling light, a low-profile LED fixture in which subtle internal reflections and carefully dimensioned polycarbonate cubes give the impression that light has been painted onto surfaces.
