Kazuhiro Yamanaka
Kazuhiro Yamanaka is a Tokyo-born designer whose work spans furniture, lighting, and installations, grounded in a philosophy that prioritizes the space around objects as much as the objects themselves. He earned his BA in Interior Design from Musashino Art University before completing a master's degree at the Royal College of Art in London, where he would later establish his practice. Known for his minimalist elegance, Yamanaka often works with paper, thin plastics, and subtly manipulated surfaces to express lightness, transformation, and the poetic invisible qualities of light. His lighting pieces among them compact fold-out lamps and kinetic installations explore minimal materials and smart gestures, while his designs are included in collections such as MoMA and featured in solo exhibitions globally.
