Lighting is a magical thing. An imperceptible element able to transform any space in entirely new ways. No one understands this more than Karman. Founded in 2005 by Davide Diamantini (CEO) and Matteo Ugolini (Art Director / Designer), Karman began as a way to explore art, magic, unconventional materials and unpredictable designs. Each and every fixture brims with creative inspiration, tells a narrative, travels the world and brings it all home. In the world of Karman, they plant ideas and harvest light.

Everything we do is meant to stir emotion and tell a story. In fact, each year we create a new phrase to guide our creative output. This year, it’s A Light Forever.

Browsing Karman’s portfolio of fixtures, there’s no shortage of creative ideas. Ghebo - for example - reflects the labyrinth of canals cutting through Venice. Domenica breaks up the monotony of design, reshaping matter in ways that explore decay and fading beauty. Moby Dick rises like a humpback in the sea, curved and graceful, rough and smooth. Amsterdam and Ugo Rilla are part of the Karman Zoo - a concept derived from the Chinese Zodiac. Every Karman light fixture is an innovative surprise, a new story ready to be told.

Design is only half the story. Karman is fully committed to their ‘made in Italy’ reputation. From their roots in Fossombrone, the heart of the Marche region, to their global reach today, Karman maintains a humble sense of respect and recognition for Italian craftsmanship.

We take ‘made in Italy’ very seriously. From raw materials and craftsmanship to designer collaborations, we work solely with Italian artists and companies.

Their latest creations explore love, magic and dance. Cupido is a brilliant balance of two worlds - technical lighting and decorative lighting - struck through the heart with one beautifully lit arrow to help the two live harmoniously. Bibendum creates something magical with traditional craftsmanship, an unexpected twist making everyday objects a little more special. Gonzaga creates a beautiful dance with light and shadow, geometry and simplicity.
