The Philips Hue Dimmer Switch features no-wire installation (battery operated) and operates like a standard wall switch with on, off and dimming options. Works with up to 10 Philips Hue White Ambiance or White and Color Ambiance bulbs and can be used to switch between four preset scenes - relax, read, concentrate, and energize. The Hue dimmer switch attaches to walls or magnetic surfaces with the included mounting plate but can also be used as a remote control anywhere in your home paired with the Philips Hue app (IOS 13 and above / Android 8.0 and above).

The Hue Bridge is not required to operate the Hue Dimmer Switch. When the Bridge is not used, the Hue Dimmer Switch operates only On/Off/Dim/Preset scenes. Pairing with the Hue Bridge opens up the Hue ecosystem, including the ability to create custom scenes, control lights from your phone, and set on/off times for lights, and change color and color temperature.
