FLOS celebrates the 60th anniversary of its Arco Floor Lamp with this Arco K limited edition. Each lamp is numbered and made to order.
Inspired by a streetlight, the Arco floor lamp was designed in 1962 with a swooping adjustable arm that holds a sleek spun aluminum shade. Its weighty base provides stability without taking up too much floor space, and has a hole for lifting and beveled edges to eliminate rough corners. A button on the cord provides on/off function and continuous dimming down to 10%.
For this limited edition, the base is made of clear lead-free crystal, offering a modern minimalist aesthetic. The innovative, visually appealing Arco is a beautiful piece to add to your dining or living room over a table or sofa.

Achille Castiglioni - The life and career of Achille Castiglioni, bears witness to the preeminence of Italian postwar design and its relationships with architecture on one hand and industry on the other. Like many of his compatriots, it is via architecture that Achille Castiglioni came to design and it is through direct relations with industry that he was able to realize his daily-use objects that have accompanied the modern way of life.
Pier Giacomo Castiglioni received numerous prizes and awards, including the “Compasso d’Oro” in 1955, 1960, 1962, 1964, 1967, 1979. He exhibited at every Milan Triennale from 1940 on, winning many awards. For the latter, based on the theme “Leisure time, living time”, Pier Giacomo Castiglioni was a member of the Executive Committee. His works have been displayed and are currently being exhibited at museums worldwide.
FLOS was founded in 1962. The very same year FLOS lighting began producing a number of lamps that were to become classics in Italian industrial design. From the very outset, FLOS has been distinguished by its high quality approach to lamp design and production. Many of the numerous lamps designed for FLOS are undoubtedly some of the best-known and most successful products of industrial design. They have won awards and historical-critical accolades, and are included in all the most important collections and design museums around the world. Some significant product examples over the last forty years are: Parentesi (1970), Brera (1992), Fucsia (1996), Rosy Angelis (1994), the Romeo Moon (1996), Archimoon (1998) series and the recent Diabolo (1998). Throughout the nineties the work of Achille Castiglioni and Philippe Starck has been flanked by a series of products from new and other designers. This reflects a desire to keep the attitude to discover the most talented designers to maintain FLOS leadership in innovation.
