Over the past 150 years, concrete has become a ubiquitous material used for a wide variety of construction applications thanks to its durability and versatility. But it is often overlooked that every concrete building requires a skeleton of steel rebar to provide structure and support. Designer Bertrand Jayr explores the relationship of concrete and steel with the Sharp Dining Table.

The Sharp Table's columnar base is accented by a concrete sleeve, which is cut away to reveal the faceted steel structure underneath. The sleeve can be installed up or down for two distinctive looks. The table is capped with a square, oak veneer tabletop which provides the texture of natural wood as a contrast to the base's modern, industrial styling. With a simple silhouette and bold black finish, Sharp will serve as an eye-catching, architectural centerpiece in a modern interior.
