The Haze Rug, designed by Begum Cana Ozgur, is inspired by the harmony of colors drawn from nature at the moment when the haze appears. In this unique coevality, the colors speak to each other, generating a visual balance resulting from visual sensitivity; they interact, while becoming hard to control. Unlike other creative processes, Haze is a rug devised directly on the loom, as the designer experimented with chromatic interactions and color fading by means of mixing colors optically.

About Begum Cana Ozgur
Born in 1989, Turkish designer Begum Cana Ozgur received her master's degree from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in the US.
In 2014, Begum Cana opened her studio, based in Istanbul, where the cultural richness of the land has been the major motive in her work, developing an interest in ancient craft practices.
Begum Cana's work integrates design, art, and crafts. Starting from the initial ideation, her design process is carried out hands on. She plays with common materials and existing techniques to fully understand their potential in order to develop new contemporary expressions. The experimental process results in the development and adaptation of skills, suggesting new ways of doing, which enable design ideas to inhabit a truly authentic form of body in her work.
