Claudia Valsells changes her usual medium, painting, to design the Tones Pieces Tufting Rug. A collection that uses color as a central tool, breaking with the traditional process of designing a rug. In the Pieces tufting model, the artist distributes the remnants in the center, composes them in a melodic way, showing us her creative process. This rug is handmade with Afghan wool using hand tufting, the technique that allows the artist's work to be literally transferred.

      Claudia Valsells began as a mural painter in 1969. In 1992 she went to study mural painting at the Institut Suprieur de Peinture Van Der Kelen et Logelain in Brussels, to evolve as a colorist and finally as an artist where painting and color are her vehicles of expression. Currently Alzueta Gallery in Barcelona represents her nationally and internationally.

      Valsells combines her work as an artist with that of colorist in the fields of architecture and interior design. Painting is my job and color my ally. My creations claim beauty as a visual experience. I believe when we experience beauty there is relief.
