Hello! The on/off switch is located on the backplate which is 5.1"W x 6.3"H. This fixtured can be hardwired or installed as a plug-in with the included cord and cord cover.
Can the canopy be mounted to a 2 3/4" or 3 1/2" junction/electrical box?
