The Patera Oval Pendant, inspired by the Fibonacci mathematic sequence, is a glowing sphere of diamond shaped cells formed by woven ribbons of material. Each cell is carefully designed to capture light and to shield the light source from the viewing angles above 45 degrees. Below 40 degrees, the fields are open to direct light downwards. A small amount of light is also sent upwards to illuminate the ceiling.

Danish designer, Oivind Slaatto (1978), originally studied music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, but later earned a Master's degree from the Danish Design School. It wasn't long until Slaatto opened his studio, SLAATTO DESIGN in Copenhagen, Denmark. His appreciation for music influences his design process and philosophy.
Each product he creates, from cars to light fixtures, should feel like a piece of music being played - simple yet complex. While Slaatto develops a diverse array of products, light is close to his heart. Having an affinity with nature, Slaatto seeks to heighten our experience with light and ultimately reshape the interiors we live in.
