The Medley Pendant has an pebbly feel to its surface thanks to the wood beads that not only differ in size, but also in color -- natural, tan, and black. Clarence Mallari, who designed this dome-shaped pendant, notes how the wires are welded together to accommodate the different bead sizes and how the fixture looks beautiful when viewed from underneath.

About Clarence Mallari
Clarence Mallari is a senior lighting designer at Currey & Company, where he shapes expressive, finely crafted fixtures rooted in material storytelling and artisanal technique. Mallari leans into the tactile potential of mixed media - braided rope, wrought iron, hand-woven wicker, seeded glass - combining them into forms that feel both organic and rigorously composed. His designs often reference historical - and sometimes whimsical - sources: for example, his Quennell chandelier evokes the seeded glass canisters of classic lanterns, while his Emmental chandelier plays on concentric rings inspired by the look of Swiss cheese.
