The Umbra Round Wall Sconce takes its name from the word penumbra, which refers to outer part of a shadow where light is only partially blocked. The circular stainless steel faceplate obscures light from the LED light source, producing an ethereal halo around the fixture. Using simple geometries and an interplay of light and shadow, Umbra offers a simple, refined expression.

About Isaac Pineiro
Isaac Pineiro (b. 1976 Pontevedra, Spain) is a Galician born designer based in Barcelona. After graduating from Mestre Mateo Santiago Art School, he continued his training at EASD in Valencia and Scuola Politecnica di Milano. Pineiro co-founded the Valencia-based design studio Nadadora with Cristina Alonso in 2006 before starting his own studio in 2017.
Pineiro's approach to product, furniture, and lighting design results in intuitive objects that consider not only aesthetics but also a variety of use cases and the entirety of the production process. His collaborative and multidisciplinary approach leads to timeless designs.
