About Piero Castiglioni
Piero Castiglioni, born in Lierna, Italy in 1944, started his career in the 1970's, working together with his father Livio, when the first halogen light bulbs were being introduced. Through this, he developed the Scintilla lighting system along with several lighting projects and custom lighting designs. Throughout his career he has had numerous commissions to design the lighting of important museums, historical city centers, new urban developments, monuments, parks, and gardens. These commissions have let to the collaboration with other architects, which has helped him develop new lighting systems and their production and marketing. He has received numerous design awards throughout his career and his lighting designs are still extremely popular to this day.
