I bought this light for a deck light source for use at the Outer Banks beach area because of the stainless steel and LED features. The frosted glass & LED bulb provides a very nice, soft light effect that is not glaring or obtrusive. However, the quality of the stainless steel material is questionable for salt air service. I am an engineer who works with stainless steel every day and before I installed the fixtures, I examined the weld quality. I found them to be of poor quality, so I disassembled them and subjected the frames to a process that improves the corrosion resistance of most stainless steels. After 6 months of outdoor exposure to the beach environment, there is some corrosion appearing in the base metal of the frames. This clearly means that the stainless steel used is of poor quality. The fixtures may function without corrosion in regions without salt air.
