What do you think about this product?
Poor directions and hook up
- Do You Recommend This Product? No
- Installation: Need An Electrician
Directions and hook up were awful. I replaced numerous light fixtures and this was the worst - returned it
Complicated fixture
The idea of a flat LED light is a Great one. And I am sure that if I had a clean junction box Installation would've been fine. However, I tried installing it on an existing junction box with multiple wires inside. I was not able to push the LED portion of the light inside the junction box and dust was not able to install it
Nice light!
I got this light to replace my 40 year old light over my Kitchen sink. It is low profile and fit my space perfectly. It is a nice bright light. It works well and looks nice. I would recommend it to others.
Bright light
I just had this LED light installed today. Put in on the ceiling in my walk in n closet . Worked great because the ceiling is low , so I won't run my head into Stays flush to the ceiling . Really a bright light .
Great even light
We bought 6 of these for a basement remodel and they give off bright even light and look interesting on our ceilings. Because of low light quality in basements and ceiling height restrictions these lights were perfect for our remodel.
Nice light, but needs proper electrical box
These are nice lights, but be prepared for possible installation glitches.
The big one is that the "bump" in the back of the light will not fit in a standard 3/0-4/0 round new-work electrical box, unless you want to install your light at a 45-degree angle. Fortunately I discovered this before the drywall went on the ceiling and I replaced the round boxes with 4" octagonal boxes, which work fine. You might also be able to get a retrofit box to work by rotating the box rather than the light.
A minor nit is that the tiny screws for attaching the magnetic mounting plates to the ceiling are useless on drywall. I bought some metal wall anchors (the holes in the plates are sized for #6 screws). Beyond that, installation is pretty easy. The fixture has a convenient strap that clips it to the box for support so you can use both hands for doing the wiring, and then you just push everything up into the box where the spring clips and magnets hold it up.
I bought 2 of these for lighting in a walk-in closet. They're very bright (more lumens than a 100-watt equivalent bulb) but it's diffused along the full length of the fixture. There's no problem with them fitting flush against the ceiling, looks very clean and modern.
