Originally created by Danish designer Flemming Lassen in 1935, the Tired Man Chair is meant to make whoever sits in it feel as warm and safe as a polar bear cub in the arms of its mother in the middle of the ice cap. The Tired Man's organically curving silhouette and enveloping seat and back provide a delightfully plush spot to relax. Blocky oak legs with front casters complement the oversized seat, and a choice of sheepskin or fabric upholstery allow for a casual, inviting look or a more refined feel.

About Flemming Lassen
Flemming Lassen (1902 - 1984) was a Danish architect and designer who, along with his brother Mogens Lassen, is credited for pioneering Functionalism in Denmark and developing the Danish Modernist style. In 1929, Lassen and Arne Jacobsen won a Danish Architects Association competition for their "House of the Future" design, and they started their own office the following year.
Inspired by Mies van der Rohe and Bauhaus principles, Lassen's designs are characterized by simple, well-defined lines with a focus on function and experimentation with novel materials. His use of organic curves would become a hallmark of the Danish style, and many of his iconic furniture silhouettes are still in production today.
