The Freja Bench comes out of a wish to create sculptural furniture with the soothing visual appeal of Scandinavian furniture making traditions and a Japanese mode of expression. The archetypal furniture making principles of static and ornament converge to give Freja its elegant, yet simple character. Seen from different angles legs and aprons optically interweave to form a trellis, the seat floating lightly with woven paper cord as only decorative feature.
