Designed in 1952, the Giraffe Tablet Floor Lamp was named for its curved silhouette and elongated neck, which create an elegant, avant-garde look that embodies the spirit of designer Francois Rispal. The lamp's solid wooden frame features a rectangular tabletop and is supported by sleek metal legs. A rectangular fabric shade completes the look with a neatly tailored accent. On/off switch located on cord.

Little is known about the founder of Rispal. The son of wine merchants, he was born in Paris in 1901. In 1924, he founded his company in the 11th arrondissement of the capital, at 172 rue de Charonne. Its activity ceased in 1982. The workshop and the showroom were then destroyed in order to build a real estate office. During this demolition, all plans, manufacturing documents and other tools disappeared, and with it, all the craftmanship of Rispal. However, in the early 1950s, a particularly avant-garde collection, "Formes Nouvelles", was launched. If there is one model that represents the avant-gardism of Rispal alone, it is undoubtedly the Praying Mantis.
